Campaign Messaging: This training helps candidates develop clear, confident messaging that connects with voters across every part of a campaign. Participants will learn how to tell their story, stay on message in speeches and interviews, and align owned, earned, and paid media into one cohesive narrative. The session introduces practical tools like the messaging box, messaging triangle, and pivot statements to help candidates communicate with focus and authenticity. It is designed for first-time candidates and for returning candidates who want to sharpen their message and expand their coalition. Candidates will leave with practical frameworks they can immediately apply on the campaign trail. Anyone working with a campaign is welcome!

Presenter

Kate Craig is a veteran campaign professional with deep experience in Tennessee state and local races. She ran for Tennessee Senate District 3 in 2022 and founded Harvesting Democracy PAC to support rural candidates across the state. Kate previously served as Campaign Manager for Nancy Fischman’s 2016 Tennessee House race and spent two terms as Chair of the Washington County Democratic Party. She has also served in multiple statewide leadership roles, including Chair of the First Congressional District for the Tennessee Democratic County Chairs Association and Interim Vice President for the East Grand Division of the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women. In 2025, she launched Kate Craig Consulting.

Kate is a graduate of American University’s Campaign Management Institute, holds a Master of Public Administration, and earned a graduate certificate in Women, Policy, and Political Leadership. She received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from East Tennessee State University.
